After missing a host of chances in the first half, the visitors finally broke the deadlock in the second half through midfielder Lee Smith, who fired home from close range after good work from Luke Rodgers

. At 10am this morning, the Evo-Stik League have released the fixture list for the forthcoming season. The Pitmen start the new season on August 12th with a home game against Ashton United, followed by successive away trips to Matlock Town and Shaw Lane. Boxing Day sees the Pitmen make the short trip to Rushall Olympic, before they host Stafford Rangers on New Years Day. The season ends on April 28th with a trip to Altrincham

. The Pitmen's extra stamina and quality came to the fore this afternoon, as they eased past near neighbours Heath Hayes at the Coppice Ground. Jordan Nadat (2) and Ryan Wynter put the Pitmen three goals up at the break, with a raft of substitutions in the second half bringing further goals from Jack Weldon for the hosts, followed by a quickfire double from James Lawrie and Danny Glover. Regan Smith grabbed a consolation goal late on for Heath Hayes

. . The Pitmen have announced today their pre-season schedule for the forthcoming season, with a mixture of games against opposition from different levels of the game. They start in June with a trip to Boldmere St. Michaels and their 3G pitch, before making the short hop up the B4154 to Heath Hayes the following week. Games against Mansfield Town and Tamworth follow, before a trip to Southern Premier League side Merthyr Town on their 3G pitch in August, before finishing on the 8th August with a home games against a Birmingham City XI
